Gaia Bernstein Gaia Bernstein is a J.S.D. (doctoral) candidate at the New York University School of law and a fellow at the Engelberg Center for Innovation Policy and the Information Law Institute. She writes on the diffusion process of new technologies, including reproductive technologies, biotechnology and the Internet. Her work analyzes cases in which the socio-legal acceptance of a new technology is influenced by incompatibility between a value embedded in the technology and its corresponding socio-legal value.Her article on the technology of artificial insemination and the value of the family: "The Socio-Legal Acceptance of New Technologies: A Close Look at Artificial Insemination" is forthcoming in the Washington Law Review.
